Is '100 percent' enough for Vick?
Michael Vick contends that he gave "100 percent effort" in Atlanta's 44-11 season-ending loss to Carolina last year - while maintaining that he could've done more to help the Falcons win that game.
The comments from last month opened up the former Virginia Tech star to what became in short order a feeding frenzy of criticism - if it's possible that somebody who many feel will yet redefine the position of quarterback can be the victim of such a phenomenon.
The problem is that in the course of redefining the way quarterbacks do their thing, Vick has yet to master the basics of the signal-calling job.
The lefty completed only 55.3 percent of his passes and threw a career-high 13 interceptions in 2005 - and more importantly to Falcons fans, the team went 2-6 in the second half of '05 after a 6-2 start.
I don't think any of those numbers has anything to do with Vick's effort or lack thereof.
The scary thing, though, is that it could be that Michael Vick's 100 percent just isn't good enough.
