Around ACC Nation
It won't play for the ACC title, but after watching Virginia Tech Saturday night it's tough not to think that the Hokies are the best team in the ACC. One concern after the game - Branden Ore was hurt early and his status for Saturday is up in the air.
Boston College may want to claim best team in the ACC, and the Eagles still have a chance to win the title.
Miami, on the other hand, isn't talking about any titles. The Hurricanes just hope to make a bowl.
North Carolina finally beat a Division I-A team. I like this story because Larry Edwards is quoted as saying the firing of John Bunting was "one of the more unfortunate things" to happen this year. You don't say.
With NC State's loss, perhaps Chuck Amato's job is in jeopardy.

Why is there no love for Georgia Tech on ACC Nation? Is there a gruge against the best team in the coastal and the state of Georgia? Is the nation angry because they picked Tech to finish as low as fourth in the coastal just to see them land on top of their division? What does ACC Nation have against the poor Yellow Jackets? Hopefully it has nothing to do with the fact that UVA and UNC, clearly the nations favorite acc teams, were dusted by the Jackets...
What will the nation do when Georgia Tech is crowned acc champion?
Good questions all...stay tuned.
Georgia Tech benefited from a weak division. Duke and North Carolina are horrible. Miami is a lousy team this year also. Virginia was horrible and is now average. Virginia Tech is actually the best team in this division, but suffered through a slump mid-season. The Jackets should send those team a thank-you card.
Wow, what sour grapes...
It was known, and well documented on ACC Nation, that the division-and the ACC as a whole-was going to be down, and yet you still incorrectly picked them to finish as low as 4th. What I don't understand is the inability to recognize the success the Yellow Jackets had as they beat your favorites. Then there were the favorites of the Nation...where is Clemson at this point? What about FL State and VA Tech? All picked by that Nation and none of them anywhere to be found in Jacksonville.
As many successful coaches will tell you, you can only play the schedule in front of you. GT did that and defeated VA Tech and anyone else they needed to defeat in order to win the coastal...
Success in sports, and football in particular, isn't by accident. You play your schedule to the best of your ability and it eventually works out on the field.
