ACC Nation has a new poll up. We want to know which football team has the most embarrassing 2006 schedule? Vote here.

A new poll is up on ACC Nation. Clemson has never won in Chapel Hill, but the Tigers have another chance this Saturday. Is this the year the winless streak finally ends?

Let your vote count at by visiting ACC Nation.

Georgia Tech recruit changes his mind, says he's now going to South Carolina. His reason: academics.

No, really. As hard as it is to believe, he chose South Carolina over Georgia Tech for academics. Said he wants to be a teacher and GT didn't offer an education program.

We at ACC Nation are sure that Steve Spurrier had nothing to do with this kid's change of heart. We're certain the Old Ball Coach didn't pursue the recruit after he said he was going to Georgia Tech. That would be wrong.

Bob Lipper of the (Richmond) Times-Dispatch, examines Virginia Tech's woes on the basketball court, as well as several other interesting ACC items.

According to Steve Ellis of the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida State can get the recruits to agree to sign with the Seminoles, but the problem comes in keeping them in Tallahassee.

Chris Graham, who is co-authoring a book with Patrick Hite (they also happen to co-host ACC Nation) on Virginia's University Hall, writes about some memories of UVa.'s basketball home.

Has the ACC lost its nerve when it comes to scheduling football games? John Markon of the (Richmond) Times-Dispatch thinks so.

It is frustrating to see the cupcakes on team's schedules for 2006. At least North Carolina and Georgia Tech had the guts to play Notre Dame. Miami is at Louisville. We might give them a pass, except the Canes also play Florida A&M and Florida International.

Virginia fans might point to the game against Pittsburgh. OK, but don't forget the Panthers had a losing record last year.

Virginia Tech should be embarrassed with its schedule, only scheduling a bunch of weak sisters of the poor is what the Hokies do every year. Even Duke is playing at Alabama and hosting Navy. You'd think the Hokies would show some respect for their program and play someone with a pulse.

Miami held on to beat Florida State 84-78 in overtime in the ACC Nation's Big Game this week. Here's the story from Friend of the Nation Emily Badger.

Miami finally got back on the winning track, and scored a road victory, but more importantly Patrick Hite picked a game correctly for the first time this year. He now closes in on Chris Graham and that pesky Celebrity Nation.

At the beginning of last week everyone seemed so focused on Tennessee-Duke in women's basketball that no one was considering that maybe neither was the best team in the country.

Well, maybe they should have. At least for now, North Carolina is the queen of the hill after rallying from 13 down to take a 74-70 win over Duke in Durham Sunday night.

In the past two seasons Duke has lost just six game, and four have come to the Tar Heels. Ned Barnett of the News and Observer writes that Carolina is had more hunger than the Dookies.

Of course this isn't the end. They play in Chapel Hill later this season, then most likely will meet in the ACC tournament (if Maryland doesn't knock one of them off) and possibly the NCAA tournament.
