More on ACC 'Idol'
"American Idol" alum Ayla Brown got a look at two of her future opponents in last night's NCAA women's basketball championship game.
Not that Brown, 17, wouldn't have minded it at all if another Atlantic Coast Conference team had made the final.
"I'm as dedicated a BC fan as you will probably ever meet," said Brown, who will play at Boston College next fall, in an interview on last week's installment of "ACC Nation."
Brown, a 2005 McDonald's preseason All-American at Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Mass., where she is the all-time leading scorer, male or female, in school history, was disappointed that her future team didn't make it further in the Big Dance - almost as much as she was disappointed not to have advanced further in "American Idol."
"I was also rooting hard for the men," said Brown, noting that the BC men's team, like the women's team, made the Sweet 16 before losing a heartbreaker themselves.
"After they lost, I was like, 'OK, the women can do it. At least one will make it.' And then when the women lost, I was so disappointed," Brown said.
